ENGIE Acquires 80 MW Wind Farm in Constanta County
ENGIE is acquiring a wind farm, majority owned by EnerCap Group, in Chirnogeni, Constanta County, an area known for its favourable wind conditions.
The Chirnogeni wind farm has a total installed capacity of 80 MW and an estimated annual net production of about 180 GWh, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 90,000 households.
ENGIE Romania already owns and operates 2 other wind farms in Braila and Galati counties, with a total installed capacity of 98 MW. With this acquisition, the company will almost double its existing green energy production capacity and will contribute, together with its solar energy assets, to accelerating the energy transition in Romania.

Completion of the transaction is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2024, subject to certain approvals, including from competition authorities.
