Lubbers sells part of the Nuclear activities to Looms Transport B.V.
As per the 1st of February 2018, Lubbers has sold a part of its Nuclear activities to Looms Transport B.V. in Almelo, the Netherlands. It concerns the specialist Road Transports executed for the Uranium Enrichment Industry. These activities were mainly offered from Lubbers German facility in Hörstel-Dreierwalde and partly from the head office in Schoonebeek, the Netherlands.
The specialist Nuclear work does not have sufficient synergies with Lubbers European Road Transport network. Lubbers expansion plans focus on other areas within Europe and adjacent countries where staff and equipment can be better optimized and have a higher contribution.
Looms Transport B.V. has a long history within the Nuclear sector, especially in servicing the Uranium Enrichment Industry. Taking over the activities from Lubbers is a next step in Looms further development as Nuclear Transport specialist. Besides specialized trailers and chassis, Looms will also take over a small dedicated team. 2018 will be the transition year in which Looms Transport B.V. is the primary contact for customers and Lubbers will still offer support where needed.
Lubbers will continue to transport the full range of Dangerous Goods, including Class 1. Explosives and Class 7 Radioactive Goods, with focus on smaller quantities primarily for the Oil & Gas industry.
