Bilfinger Expands Engineering Activities in the CEE Region
Bilfinger has significantly expanded its engineering activities in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region through a personnel transition agreement with McDermott, a leading provider of engineering and construction solutions for the energy industry. This strategic move involved the targeted integration of approximately 200 skilled employees from McDermott in Brno into Bilfinger Engineering & Maintenance Central Eastern Europe (Bilfinger E&M CEE).
The transition, effective December 31, 2024, has enhanced Bilfinger’s capabilities in plant engineering, particularly in carbon capture and hydrogen technologies, and expanded the existing team to nearly 400 engineers, making it the largest company in its sector in the region.
Bilfinger CEE’s Brno office, located in Brno, Czech Republic, is an essential hub for EPCm projects in the Bilfinger organization. As a business line of Bilfinger CEE, ISBL Projects specializes in Inside Battery Limits (ISBL) work mainly within the oil and gas (O&G), petrochemicals, chemicals, and energy transition sectors. The team is particularly adept at handling cutting-edge projects such as green hydrogen (H₂) production and advanced chemical recycling, which are crucial for a sustainable future.
Inside Battery Limits (ISBL) refers to the core area within a process plant where the primary processes occur. This includes all essential equipment, piping, instrumentation, and control systems necessary for the plant’s operation. ISBL is where the heart of the process takes place, and it is crucial for ensuring efficient and safe production. The Brno office is at the forefront of delivering comprehensive EPCm solutions, ensuring that all components within this critical area function seamlessly.
