The Romania’s leading energy technology event & networking platform Energy Tech Day (ETD) – Romania Committed to a Balanced and Competitive Energy Mix will take place on April 16, at the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.
This 7th edition of the ETD focuses on the latest pragmatic and sustainable approaches to decarbonizing the energy sector through business models that promote clean energy, novel technologies and concepts, digital tools and available mechanisms.
Towards a Resilient Energy System
Romania continues its transition to cleaner energy. A balanced and competitive low-carbon energy mix involves the use of natural gas alongside an increase in the share of renewable sources. The approach aims to gradually replace higher-emission fossil fuels such as coal, while ensuring the stability of energy supply through gas to compensate for the variability of renewable production. A balanced and competitive energy mix includes a mix of energy sources, nuclear, natural gas and renewables. This is to reduce dependence on a single source and increase the resilience of the energy system.
Achieving a balanced mix often involves strategies such as increasing the share of clean energies, maintaining the role of transition fuels such as natural gas, and improving energy infrastructure and storage capacities to manage the intermittency of renewable sources.
Major Themes
Strategies that balance various energy sources, such as natural gas, nuclear energy, and clean energy
Meeting energy demand while competing on price, reliability and environmental impact
Increasing energy production capacity and improving energy efficiency to achieve both economic and climate goals
Resource availability, government policies, cutting-edge technologies, financial instruments and investment funds helping clean energy integration
