One conference for all: Black Sea midstream and upstream in one room

The brochure for the 6th Black Sea Oil and Gas conference has now been released. As a major energy centre of the Black Sea – Romania has been selected to host the event. Radisson Blu hotel in Bucharest will accommodate the delegates in a welcoming manner on the 23-24 October 2018. The historically significant Athenee Palace Hilton will hold Gala Dinner to mark the first day of the conference and provide the unforgettable experience in an informal environment for professional networking.

The region has received huge attention in a race to acquire a status of Europe’s energy hub. Recently implemented regulatory changes in Romania often referred to as ‘offshore laws’, Ukraine’s energy market liberalisation and Bulgaria’s proposal for changes of its national energy policy contributed to that hype. The attention to increasing efficiency of oil and gas industry to increase profit margins following the oil price crash in 2014 led to an unprecedented level of development of applicable technological solutions to new and existing projects. The key players in the region ranging from operators and energy associations to technology solution providers, Black Sea Oil and Gas Conference will provide a comprehensive coverage of all strategic developments with key decision-makers.

Black Sea Oil and Gas is the only event that combines upstream and midstream sector in one room. After a change in the political environment surrounding the Ukrainian crisis, the transit procedures have undergone a tremendous change to adapt to disruption of supply. Without the interconnectors, the upstream sector cannot exist. BRUA, Turk Stream, TANAP are among the projects that are discussed during the conference. To complement the onshore and offshore decision makers, the transit operators will present their developments to present a full picture of regional oil and gas development.

With tightening deadlines of the EU’s Energy Policy aims at energy diversification and security of supply, supplemented by rising oil prices, the attention to the Black Sea region is record-high. The conference will be opened by European Commissioner for Energy Megan Richards delivering a presentation on European Energy Programme with an opportunity for active liaising during the networking coffee breaks and lunch.

With a prime focus on providing a platform for decision-makers to effectively solve industry’s challenges, the one-of-a-kind event unites the entire value chain of the Black Sea oil and gas under one roof. The conference has the official support from Romania’s Ministry of Energy with the presence of Secretary of State Iulian-Robert Tudorache.
