Romania to Host the First Regional Event Dedicated to the Construction of Renewable Energy Production Capacities

Romania’s role in the development of new renewable energy production capacities and its contribution to the regional interconnection of energy transmission networks will be key topics discussed at the first regional event dedicated to EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) companies. South East Europe Green EPC will be held on September 12 at the Sheraton Hotel in Bucharest, starting at 9:00 AM. The event is organized under the High Patronage of the Ministry of Energy and will feature speakers from energy authorities in Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.

Approximately 250 representatives from investment and EPC companies, renewable energy project developers, network constructors, financiers, and consultants will participate in the event.

The conference will open with remarks from Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Energy, Valeriu Steriu, a member of the ANRE Regulatory Committee, Violina Șpac, Director of the Board of ANRE, Republic of Moldova, Iulian Iancu, energy expert, and Elena Markova, representative of ANRE from North Macedonia. Regional authorities will discuss the harmonization of secondary legislation and the integration of balancing markets. The aim of the discussions is to facilitate competition and identify concrete measures to accelerate the development of renewable energy investments.

The event will bring together investors and EPC companies to discuss project optimization and improving performance in the construction of renewable energy production capacities. Speakers such as Liviu Simion, President of PSC, Elad Michaeli – VP of Global Operations Nofar, Anamaria Acristini, Country Manager Baywa re Romania, Cristi Andrei, General Director of Sisteme HVAC, Robert Kendressy, Country Manager Solax Power, Cristian Dragomir, CEO of WALDEVAR Energy, and Andrei Berechet – CCO of Adrem will detail the stages of project construction and present case studies of successful projects carried out in Romania and the region.

Project bankability and funding sources will be presented by Daniel Kockisch – Senior Investment Officer at IFC – International Finance Corporation, Corina Vulpeș, Director of Institutional and Business Relations at Exim Banca Românească, and Laura Tănase, CFO at Monsson Trading.

Industry association representatives will present the plans of investors in renewable energy production. George Agafiței, President of RWEA, and Martin Moise, First Vice-President of PATRES, are among the event’s speakers. Debates on digitalization, modernization, and expansion of distribution and transmission networks will be initiated by Daniela Dărăban, Executive Director of ACUE, alongside co-panelists Ondrej Safar, CEO of Evryo, and Gabriela Orman, Director of the Regulatory and Asset Management Division at Distribuție Energie Electrică Romania. Finally, the event will also address the issue of specialized workforce in the energy production sector, a topic detailed by Sebastian Enache, Renewable Energy School of Skills.
