UNLOCKING ROMANIA’S CLEAN ENERGY POTENTIAL

Energy Industry Review has the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the GREEN POWER SUMMIT 2024 – Unlocking Romania’s Clean Energy Potential, slated to take place on October 17th, at JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.

This 2nd edition of GPS is set to be a pivotal gathering where industry leaders will meet to:

Explore next-generation technologies for the advancement of sustainable energy sources in a net-zero world

Discuss new opportunities and challenges Romania faces in the new era of green power

Identify priority actions for delivering on COP28 outcomes: Tripling renewable energy capacity, doubling energy efficiency progress, substantially reducing methane emissions

Focus on regional cooperation for balancing energy

ROMANIA’S NEWS: EUR 3BN AID FOR SOLAR AND WIND ENERGY PROJECTS

The European Commission has approved a €3 billion (RON 15.22 billion) Romanian scheme to support installations producing electricity from onshore wind and solar photovoltaic to foster the transition towards a net-zero economy, in line with the Green Deal Industrial Plan.

CLEAN ENERGY RESHAPING ENERGY MARKETS

Clean energy is growing rapidly, as annual deployment of several key technologies has surged ahead in recent years driven by policy support and continued cost declines. Their growth is starting to make a dent on emissions and reshape energy markets.

In the meantime, IRENA calls for annual renewable power additions of almost 1 TW on average by 2030 to keep the climate target within reach. Electrification and energy efficiency are the key transition drivers towards a cleaner future powered by PV and wind energy, green hydrogen, and biomass.

Also, other types of renewables and low-carbon gases will play a key role, alongside other technologies towards achieving climate neutrality along the goals set forth by the European Green Deal and the interim goals for 2030 expressed by the Fit for 55 Package.
