13 Projects of Distributie Oltenia Financed by Romanian Energy Ministry
At the beginning of August, the operator Distributie Oltenia obtained funding through the Modernization Fund from the Ministry of Energy for 13 projects, in the entire operational area of Arges, Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinti, Olt, Teleorman and Valcea counties. The projects aim to further modernize the electricity distribution network, with investments amounting to over RON 930 million.
Through its development strategy, Distributie Oltenia aims to improve the level of safety in electricity distribution and reduce energy losses.
The vision of Distributie Oltenia is to become a modern, flexible company, able to respond to any challenges posed by the evolution of technologies in electricity distribution, while satisfying the demands of consumers.
“The accelerated growth in the number of prosumers, coupled with weather changes in recent years have confirmed our belief in the need to invest in energy infrastructure. The currently funded modernization projects will define how Romania will successfully make the energy transition in the coming decades. We remain committed to achieving the goals of climate neutrality, digitization in the energy sector and modernization of infrastructure to bring long-term benefits to our consumers,” says Ondrej Safar, Evryo Group Country Manager.
Through the Modernization Fund, the operator Distributie Oltenia has received over RON 930 million and is investing over RON 322 million from its own sources.
The signing of the 13 projects for all the 7 counties in the operational area implies:
- Modernization of 11 transformer stations
- Connecting over 2000 new users to smart energy grids
- Procurement and installation of more than 30,000 smart meters
- Modernization of 239 transformer substations together with the installation of 48 new transformer substations
- 10 new supply points
- Execution of 26,551 connections
- 18 nodes with remote command and control
- Modernization of 358 km of medium voltage power lines
- Modernization of 508 km of low voltage power lines, together with 22 km of new low voltage lines
- 209 metering groups for balance
- 426 km of optical fibre.
Benefits
- Increasing energy efficiency and quality of energy distributed to consumers
- Creating the capacity for grid connection of new prosumers, producers and electric charging stations
- Ensuring the continuity of electricity supply to all consumers and prosumers in conditions of quality of electricity parameters
