WALDEVAR Energy and Prime Batteries Develop Alive Capital’s Da Vinci New Project
Strategic Partnership for Romania’s Energy System
Two companies with strategic roles in Romania’s energy ecosystem—WALDEVAR Energy and Prime Batteries—are contributing to the development of the Da Vinci New Project, a large-scale photovoltaic park located in Nanov, Teleorman County, owned by Alive Capital. Installed on 247,000 square meters of land, the park will have a total capacity of 26.002 MWp, of which 23 MWp financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) – Component C6: Energy, and the remaining 3 MW from the developer’s own sources. The system integrates 44,448 photovoltaic panels backed by 78 inverters.
The project stands out thanks to the integration of an energy storage system (BESS) with an installed capacity of 5 MW and a total capacity of 10 MWh, supplied by Prime Batteries. This component provides operational flexibility and grid regulation capability, contributing to the stability of power flow.
“We started 2025 with the energies of the future and we are continuing it with landmark results for Romania. We’ve surpassed 1.5 GW of installed capacity through our projects alone and have just returned from Intersolar, the industry’s biggest trade fair, where we revalidated our strategic alignment for a greener future. Today we mark a truly special moment with Prime Batteries in the development of the Da Vinci New Project for Alive Capital – partners who challenge us to achieve excellence. We have more than just a step forward – we have a firm commitment to energy security and a perfectly balanced energy system,” Cristian Dragomir, CEO of WALDEVAR Energy, stated.
“Installing a storage system in the Nanov PV power plant is a natural step towards a more flexible and sustainable future. We are pleased that two renowned Romanian companies, WALDEVAR Energy and Prime Batteries, have set up a partnership that contributes to Romania’s energy strategy. Together we are building solutions that bring stability and flexibility to the national energy system, and we are proud to contribute to this transformation,” Giacomo Billi, Founder & CEO Alive Capital, added.
“Our participation in this project represents the beginning of our collaboration with Alive Capital, which we are very pleased about, given the expertise and experience the company has in the local energy market. The partnership with WALDEVAR Energy is a natural step in our strategy to develop as many projects as possible in Romania, alongside Romanians. We appreciate this opportunity to be part of another project of strategic importance for Romania,” Vicentiu Ciobanu, CEO Prime Batteries, noted.
According to technical estimates, the Da Vinci New Project will generate about 35,022 MWh per year, equivalent to the consumption of about 14,590 households. Carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 88,310 tons per year, and the equivalent primary energy production is estimated at 3,057.82 toe (tons of oil equivalent). This partnership reflects a pragmatic approach to modern energy infrastructure development, bringing together WALDEVAR Energy’s expertise in execution and development, Alive Capital’s ability to manage energy assets, and the advanced storage technology provided by Prime Batteries.
