WALDEVAR Surpasses 1.5 GW of Installed Capacity

Strategic Investments for the Future of Green Energy

In an industry where innovation and efficiency are key, WALDEVAR is consolidating its position as European leader, surpassing the impressive threshold of 1.5 GW of installed capacity in its portfolio of photovoltaic projects. The company is today one of Europe’s leading general contractors in the field of engineering, automation, SCADA and construction-assembly for power generation, transmission and distribution.

With a team of over 999 employees, a network of five international offices and the largest fleet of machinery and equipment on the Romanian market, WALDEVAR offers 360° integrated services in electrical, mechanical and civil design, command-control and protection for power stations, developing complete solutions for the implementation and operation of power generation capacities.

In 2024, WALDEVAR recorded spectacular growth of 135% in turnover compared to the previous year, supported by the development of more than 29 energy assets between 5 and 130 MW and an accelerated construction rate of 2.5 MW installed daily.

The vision for the future is equally ambitious: through its specialized divisions of EPC, O&M, SCADA, BESS and FPV, WALDEVAR is expanding its operations into the frontier areas of renewable energy. One major project is the launch of a unique industrial hub in Europe dedicated to floating photovoltaic technology. In partnership with the global leader Sungrow FPV, WALDEVAR is building in Tunari, on an area of almost 40,000 square meters, Europe’s largest factory for floating photovoltaic systems, with an investment of almost €10 million.

This facility will become a centre of excellence in the innovation of photovoltaic technologies on water, supporting the regional energy transition. The official opening is scheduled for early 2026, with a target market covering EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), as well as “inshore” projects in the Maldives – marine PV parks located in protected areas.

“We are transforming to become a leader in the development of integrated energy systems, combining energy production with advanced technologies. Our goal is to go beyond simply producing green energy, creating smart and sustainable solutions for the future. Thus, our transformation will mark the transition from ‘green with risks’ to ‘smart and efficient green’ in the energy sector,” says Cristian Dragomir, CEO WALDEVAR Energy.

To reaffirm its European trajectory and commitment to innovation in the energy field, WALDEVAR will participate in InterSolar Europe, the most important global event dedicated to technologies and innovations in the renewable energy industry, which will take place in Munich, Germany, from May 7 to 9, 2025. WALDEVAR will be present at stand C4.370, where visitors are invited to discover the #BlueTeam in a spectacular exhibition space that combines LED technologies with high-tech scenography for a cutting-edge visual experience.

WALDEVAR aims to welcome all current and future partners interested in leading solutions in the field of renewable energy, thus marking new opportunities for collaboration and development on the international market.

WALDEVAR demonstrates that Romania has a green energy future through bold investments, technological excellence and a firm commitment to sustainability.
