Customer Innovation Center 3M Romania
Following an investment of around 300,000 Euro, 3M has launched, on the 8th of March, one of the most important business education projects in Europe: Customer Innovation Center.
Having been here for more than 25 years, the American company is a ubiquitous brand in Romanian lives. From license plates and dental equipment to industrial, complex applications, all is made with technology, products or know-how of 3M.
Since 1902, the moment 3M surfaced in USA, the company has been involved in the economical evolution of more than 70 countries. Romanian lives have been bettered with thousands of quality products brought by 3M in many different fields. Many everyday products exist solely because 3M manufactured them. It is a given in USA that innovation is at the basis of economy, providing much of its growth. 3M is also appreciated for its dedication to innovation and encouragement of employees to find new solutions to problems. This new centre is truly a space where innovation becomes reality, all thanks to 3M solutions provided to partners and clients – Hans G. Klemm, U.S. Ambassador to Romania, stated on the occasion of the opening.
“Innovation is also very, very important to our work here in Romania as the Embassy of the United States of America. As you know we have three priorities. One is to promote the security of our two countries. Two is to promote democracy and all the values that are associated with democracy. But the third one is to promote prosperity between our two countries and economies, to improve the flow of trade in goods and services between Romania and the United States, to improve the flow of investment that occurs between our two countries. And I think central to all of that work is to promote innovation; promote innovation, promote entrepreneurship so the contribution that 3M is making today much more strongly with the opening of the center in Romania fits very, very well with our priorities in support of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States,” the Ambassador added.
This opening goes hand in hand with the country’s strategy of gaining investments in research and development. 3M is famous at a national and international level for its never ending search for new products to implement in everyday life.
Catalin Velescu, General Director of 3M Romania, thinks that this centre opens a unique experimental universe, in an environment where most marketing channels choose to immediately direct their shares and budgets towards dealings with ROI. 3M chooses a more traditional way of communicating, a holistic one. The aim is to familiarize the visitor with the company’s full history of innovation.
