Romgaz and NS Edge to Set a New Cyber Security Standard

Romania’s largest gas producer Romgaz hosted a very important event – ‘NS EDGE CYBERSECURITY SHOWCASE’, marking a significant advance in strengthening the security of critical energy infrastructure in Romania.

The event celebrated the successful implementation of an advanced cyber security solution developed by NS Edge, a U.S. company considered innovative for its cutting-edge technologies in the field of cyber threat intelligence.

Implementation within Romgaz and the successful performance of NS Edge solution supported by the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service and the Romanian Ministry of Energy set a new security standard for threat information and defence in the energy sector.

Romgaz understands the increasing importance of cyber security reason why it integrated strong cyber security measures in its basic strategy. This integration is crucial for protecting assets, ensuring operational continuity and maintaining stakeholders’ confidence.

The NS Edge solution is among Romgaz cyber security initiatives, and the implementation of this latest technology has been a success providing real-time cyber threat detection while efficiently processing large volumes of data with minimum computer resource.

The partnership between Romgaz and NS Edge is further strengthened by the support of the CleanTech Nexus program, an initiative launched by the Romanian Ministry of Energy, Techcelerator and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova. This program promotes innovation and cross-border collaboration, contributing to the advancement of sustainable and reliable energy solutions.

The event was honoured by the presence of the Romanian Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, the representatives of Techcelerator and a delegation from the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service.
